Interview with Marina Le Bras, manager of the Ranch Villata

The philosophy of the Ranch is, above all, to respect nature and wildlife.

Camping on the farm is, above all, a concept focused on nature and the activity that is provided on-site is horse-riding. We have a stable of around 30 ponies and horses that, for the most part, have been born and reared right here. The equestrian centre operates throughout the year and we teach horse-riding with an ethological and natural slant during the school term (for local schools) and we offer horse-riding along the seashore, trails for 1 to 6 days between the sea and the mountains, courses focusing on ponies or horses…

Our main business focus is the equestrian centre, and we have set up a small camp-site on the farm next door. Camping is a secondary business for us and we have very small capacity of around 35 people.

Pitches for tents are located in an oak forest and are spacious and shaded. There are two sanitary blocks with hot showers, toilets and an area with sinks and wash basins, as well as a shared freezer where guests can get ice. We also rent out caravans that are equipped with 2 double beds, a small outdoor kitchen with stove, microwave oven, and coffee pot. There is also a well-equipped mobile home, with 2 bedrooms, kitchen/lounge, washroom and toilet.

What horse-riding trails do you offer visitors?

We have a range of trails with different durations and different ability levels (from 1 hour trails to tours lasting several days, and for riders ranging from complete novices to the highly experienced) and all of our trails pass along the sea shore and across the Arasu Pond. Trails that are longer than 2 hours also visit the rivers and the mountains.

Are you labelled and what is the philosophy of the Ranch?

We have the Centre de Tourisme Equestre et Camping à la Ferme label. The philosophy of the Ranch is, above all, to respect nature and wildlife.

Where are you located?

We are located 12km from Porto-Vecchio and 3km by car from the small village and beach of St Cyprien. There is also a path that leads from the camp site and the walk takes 20 minutes.
