"Mass and procession in honour of the patron saint of fishermen through the streets of the town and down to the sea (Ajaccio, Propriano, Calvi etc). The priest blesses the boats and then throws a floral wreath into the sea. The public is then invited to step aboard fishing and excursion boats to follow this procession on the water.

This event takes place in several fishing ports in Corsica, and is particularly important in Ajaccio, where an association of fishermen has established a two-day event at the port and by the citadel moat (grilled fish barbecues, performances by folklore groups etc).
