Dans l’aile nord du palais, la bibliothèque, comme la chapelle impériale, a été dessinée par Alexis Paccard (1813-1867). L’entrée est remarquable par le grand escalier et les deux lions, moulés par Canova sur les originaux qui ornent le tombeau du pape Clément XIII à Saint-Pierre de Rome. Riche de plusieurs dizaines de milliers de volumes - dont quelques trésors bibliophiliques -, longue de plus de 30m, la salle de lecture, tout en noyer, est l’œuvre de Jérôme Maglioli.

Housed in the north wing of the palace, the library, along with the Imperial chapel, was designed by Alexis Paccard (1813-67). The entrance is striking for its monumental staircase and for the two lions which were moulded by Canova from the originals adorning the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St Peter?s Basilica in Rome. Home to thousands of volumes ? some of which are real treasures ? the 30m-long reading room is decorated in walnut and is the work of Jérôme Maglioli.
"Nell'ala nord del palazzo, la biblioteca, come la cappella imperiale, sono state progettata da Alexis Paccard (1813-1867). L'ingresso è notevole per la grande scalinata e i due leoni scolpiti sugli originali del Canova che ornano la tomba di Papa Clemente XIII in San Pietro a Roma. La biblioteca che ospita decine di migliaia di volumi, tra cui alcuni tesori bibliofili - è lunga più di 30m, mentre la sala lettura, tutta in noce, è opera di Girolamo Maglioli."
