C'est une église romane de style pisan construite vers 1140, les pierres vert-bleu foncé est une variété de Chloritite à grain compact extraite dans le lit du Bevinco. La pierre blanche est du calcaire de Saint-Florent. Le site de San Michele a, depuis les temps les plus reculés de notre histoire locale, revêtu un intérêt stratégique, économique et religieux. La légende dit que l'église de San Michele aurait été construite en une nuit...par les anges. Aux alentours, il y avait une forêt dans laquelle on aurait bâti l'église en secret. A la fin de la construction, les arbres auraient été abattus pour dévoiler l'édifice.

The proximity of the fertile Le Taravo plain, the presence of a hill that could be easily inhabited and defended, as well as the existence of numerous rock shelters were key to the long occupation of the Filitosa site from the sixth millennium BC up to the Roman occupation. In the second millennium BC, megalithic stone-cutters and sculptors transformed Filitosa into the most important centre for statuary art in Corsica and throughout the Mediterranean. With its 8,000 years of history (and mystery), Filitosa has managed to preserve these extraordinary circular and secretive monuments known as menhirs.
È una chiesa romana di stile pisano costruita verso 1140, le pietre verde-blu scuro sono una varietà di Chloritite a grano compatto estratta nel letto del Bevinco. La pietra bianca è il calcare di Saint-Florent. La località di San Michele, dai tempi più arretrati della nostra storia locale, ha rivestito un interesse strategico, economico e religioso. La leggenda dice che la chiesa di San Michele sarebbe stata costruita in una notte dagli angeli. Ai dintorni, c'era una foresta nella quale si sarebbe costruita la chiesa in segreto. Alla fine della costruzione, gli alberi sarebbero stati abbattuti per rivelare la costruzione.
