"In the village of Pancheraccia, as was the case in Lourdes, it is said that in the 18C the Virgin appeared to a little girl lost in the mountains, creating a spring in a place where there was nothing but rocks and maquis.
Since that day, Pancheraccia has become an important place of pilgrimage in Corsica. The chapel, built in honour of the Madonna, overlooks the valley, providing magnificent views all the way to the sea.
On the evening of 7 September a torchlight procession, involving a number of brotherhoods, is held in the streets of the village. The next day, ribbons offered to pilgrims on the church square after the procession, are then blessed.
The chapel remains open to pilgrims throughout the year as this superb site is more than just a sanctuary - the unspoilt setting and peace and quiet here are popular attractions in themselves.

Nel villaggio di Pancheraccia come a Lourdes, si racconta che la Vergine sia apparsa nel 18° secolo ad una bambina che si era smarrita in montagna e che fece sgorgare una sorgente la dove c'era solo roccia e macchia
Da questo giorno, Pancheraccia è diventato un alto luogo di pellegrinaggio in Corsica. La cappella che fu eretta in onore della Madonna sovrasta tutta la valle ed offre un magnifico punto di vista fino al mare.
Il 7 settembre di sera si svolge la tradizionale processione con le fiaccole nelle vie del villaggio con la partecipazione delle confraternite. L'8 settembre messa e benedizione sul sagrato della chiesa dei nastri offerti ad ogni pellegrino dopo la processione.
La cappella resta aperta al pubblico tutto l'anno perché questo splendido sito che è anche un santuario; regala la serenità a tutti quelli che si fermano in questo posto magico ed autentico.
