Set in peaceful surroundings, the Assunta Gloriosa monastery, entrusted to the nuns of Bethlehem, the Assumption of the Virgin and Saint Bruno, is distinguished by its recent, modern and uncluttered architecture. The chapel, which is open all day, welcomes visitors who are free to enter, including during liturgical services.
The monastery also offers an exhibition and sale of a wide range of monastic products. The sisters make hand-painted earthenware with motifs inspired by the Orient, as well as high-quality natural products such as pure essential oils, soothing balms, jams, honey, herbal teas, vegetable syrups, gingerbread and artisan biscuits. There are also candles made in the monastery and numerous works of sacred art, including statues and crosses in solid wood or stone, nativity scenes, icons and illuminations, as well as cards, rosaries and bibles.
Liturgical celebrations punctuate the life of the church, with mass celebrated on Mondays at 5.15pm, Tuesdays to Fridays at 5.45pm, Saturdays at 8am and Sundays at 11am.
Vespers are sung from Tuesday to Friday at 5.15pm, on Saturdays at 5.45pm and on Sundays at times to be confirmed on 04 95 57 43 41.
