8. BECAUSE CORSICA PUTS ON A SHOW ALL YEAR ROUND

A festive island

With the Imperial Regattas, the prestigious sailing race that takes place in Ajaccio, or the historic Tour de Corse with its beautiful carriages from another age, golf or Petanque tournaments, marathons or off-shore races, Corsica offers a wide range of sporting entertainments. To this you can add the country fairs and markets, the celebrations of religious and pagan festivals, such as the ceremonies of A Santa du Niolu or of Notre Dame de Lavasina, the Passion of Christ revisited in Sartène on Good Friday, Napoleonic Week in Ajaccio and the now famous « Changing of the Guard of the Grognards », the events stretch right through the year.
