Corsica for chidren in spring

Top 10 things to do with the family

The beautiful days are back, spring is finally here: the season for family holidays has arrived. Especially for you and your children, we round up our top 10 activities to do with family, which will delight the adults as much as the little ones. Animal parks and adventure parks, horseback riding, treasure hunts and many other activities are on the menu for this spring break.

1. Visit an animal park

You’re bound to encounter cows and wild boar along roadsides and in forests in Corsica –  but it’s not easy to approach them in their natural habitat. So why not go to one of the animal parks to see other animals, such as turtles, bees, chickens or ducks? Here’s our selection:

  • A Cupulatta , near Ajaccio, where you can discover the hidden life of turtles;
  • The Olva nature park  in Sartène, a typical Corsican natural area where you can get to know the island animals.

The Ferme de Padula  in Porto-Vecchio oofers interactive tours during which your children can approach, stroke and hand-feed the animals.

3. walk in a vast garden

Looking for an activity to keep the whole family happy? Here are two parks where both young and old can enjoy themselves.

The  Parc de Saleccia , located on the of Ile-Rousse in the Balagne, is a real Mediterranean garden of seven hectares. You can explore tne botanical trails and discover exceptional plant collections.

The  Parc Galéa  is a nine-hectare garden combining exhibitions, art and digital museums for a fun and educational discovery of Corsica. We reviewed it for you here.

It’s never easy to make cultural visits fun for the kids – but we think we’ve found the solutions.

Adventurous kids will love playing monkey in the Corsican forests, with zip lines, tree climbing and ‘via ferrata’ – these are all great outdoor activities to enjoy as a family. Fully trained instructors are on hand to enhance this unforgettable experience.

6. go horse riding or donkey-riding

To avoid tiring out the little ones on one of Corsica’s superb discovery trails, opt for a horseback ride or donkey ride.

Information available from equestrian centres in the local area, as well as from tourist offices.

7. be entertained

Spring offers a calendar of colourful events in Corsica including carnivals and shows. We suggest:

  • Festival du rêve in Porto-vecchio
  • Sartène Carnival
  • Bastia Carnival
  • Bastia Comic Festival

Check out our full  calendar  so you don't miss anything.

Meet   Ricco and the pirates  (Furiani), to the delight of children and their patient parents! Ideal in rainy weather (you never know, as spring can have z mind of its own), this playground is open every day and boasts a play area of 1.400m square metres. The kids will be able to let off steam, jump, climb, slide, crawl and compete against each other- all in total safety

The famous ‘trinichellu’ will take you around northern Corsica, through landscapes bursting with spring flowers.

10.  play on the beach

And finally, the safe bet of all family holidays: the beach.
