The fair of Bocognano is the major event in the heart of winter and this is the place where lovers of authentic Corsican products converge. Producers and artisans have been meeting in the heart of the Gravona Valley: Chestnut flour, chocolate, glazed chestnuts, honey, cheeses, saffron, citron, oysters, and much more, but also Cutlers, ceramists, Bell-melters. So many flavors, smells and beautiful objects that will keep the visitor in the heart of the aisles..
The highlight of the fair is at lunch time it takes place: the making of the pulenda. A marquee specially designed for lunch and plates that make you want. Pulenda, figatellu and brocciu officially recognized winter flavors!
Amongst all the stands, one of my favorites was the bakery pastry shop Casanova in Corte, which produces ice creams with flavors reminiscent of Corsica: canistrelli, brocciu or hazelnuts from Cervione ... all iced on a frosted and delicately rolled plate. using a spatula! The result, both aesthetic and taste is bluffing.
