The Centre-Corse is the perfect place for Trail

By Nathalie Published 01/12/2014

In just a few years, this challenging discipline has found its place and attracted a public that is increasingly eager to watch the performances of its top athletes. Trail is widely practiced in the Centre Corse area, with three major summer tournaments: the Restonica Trail, the Via Romana and the Périple de l'Arche

Unless you have prepared very well, it is difficult to compete in these races in the great outdoors and expect to be well placed, as the competition demands that participants must be in prime physical condition. The races take place on courses that are perfect for these athletes, who will encounter a variety of reliefs and surfaces, as well as diverse landscapes.

Why not try your hand at some of the smaller loops that sit alongside these courses? It may even tempt you into coming back the following year to compete in the real thing...
Access: the Restonica Trail can be found in the valley that shares its name. The Via Romana runs along part of the Castagniccia. The Périple de l'Arche sets out from Corte and skirts Scandulaghju.
The plus.
There is a winter version of the Restonica Trail, the Trail Blanc, which is held every year in January.
