A different way to explore Corsica
From Calvi to Ajaccio, the GT20 West ‘Slow Pace’ route invites you to discover one of the most beautiful parts of Corsica over 5 days. A wonderful journey at a leisurely pace, in five stages of between 35 and 55 km a day, allowing you to discover the island’s wonders without ever having to rush.
You set off from the coast and head for the red rocky coves of Piana. You’ll follow the coast to the Porto nature reserve. A free day in Porto offers a welcome break, with a boat trip to explore the Scandola nature reserve. You’ll cycle through wild landscapes, authentic villages and along a spectacular coastline, eventually reaching Napoleon’s town. Every stage of the west coast journey reveals a new side to the island.
The ‘Slow’ pace gives you the time to do just that: to stop off at a beach, in a village, or at a local producer’s table. The great west coast journey, within everyone’s reach.
One conviction has shaped our holidays: no two people experience a journey in the same way.
Some dream of crossing Corsica entirely independently, alone with the island. Others love the idea of meeting fellow travellers along the way, sharing a drink in the evening, a stopover, or a chance encounter. And many want both, depending on the day or their mood. So we’ve designed our holidays to give you that choice, from the first day to the last.

YOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Ajaccio–Cargèse
distance 55 km
elevation gain 900 m
Right from this first stage, we’re immersed in our own little world – and what a joy! The village of Sari d’Orcino reveals a completely different side to itself when explored by bike – it’s amazing how your perspective changes when you take your time. And that light! Soft, golden, almost unreal. The road then opens out, taking you along the coast as you head up towards Cargèse. The beaches there are magnificent!
Day 2: Cargèse–Porto
distance 56 km
elevation gain 1,144 m
You leave Cargèse, a charming village with colourful bougainvilleas and picturesque narrow streets, dominated by its two churches standing opposite each other: one Byzantine-inspired and the other Romanesque in style. The climb begins, plunging you into the wilderness, where goats, perched by the roadside, watch you with curious eyes. Then the village of Piana comes into view, offering a spectacular vista of the sea and the red rocks. You continue your journey through the famous Calanche de Piana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before descending towards Porto.
Day 3: Porto–Vico
Distance: 35 km
Elevation gain: 1,170 m
Today’s stage is truly beautiful; you leave the coastline behind to begin your ascent through the splendid Spelunca Gorges. Along the way, you’ll pass through the charming villages of Marignana and Cristinacce, before reaching Vico via the Col de Sevi. The route, wild and unspoilt, winds its way through unspoilt countryside.
Day 4: Vico–Pevani
Distance: 50 km
Elevation gain: 570 m
Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful stages of the trip – although they all are! Today, you’ll leave the mountainous terrain behind to return to the gentle coastline and the charm of the sea. From Vico, the route takes you through wild, unspoilt countryside. You’ll pass through the peaceful village of Arbori, then head towards the superb villages of Sari d’Orcino, Canelle and Sant’Andréa d’Orcino, before reaching the splendid road to Pevani.
Day 5: Pevani–Ajaccio
distance 30 km
elevation gain 650 m
The Pevani road – where you’ll experience the incredible sensation of riding on water! You’ll wish time would stand still… or better still, turn round and start all over again in the other direction, just to relive every moment.
