A walk between sea and memory: from Caspiu to Gradelle
Discover a charming coastal path in the heart of western Corsica, between Partinello and Osani.
From Caspiu beach (in the commune of Partinello), this little coastal path leads you to Gradelle beach, in the neighbouring commune of Osani, following the shoreline in a peaceful and authentic atmosphere.
An easy route rich in history
Duration: 1h15 round trip
Difference in altitude: around 70 m
Type of walk: easy, accessible to anyone in good physical condition
Starting point: Caspiu beach
Arrival point: Gradelle beach (swimming possible)
The path winds along the coast through a site recently restored by the Conservatoire du Littoral. It offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its characteristic red cliffs and deep waters.
Rural heritage by the sea
All along the route, you can see traces of ancient farming activities:
An aghja, a circular stone threshing floor, a reminder of the region's farming past
Traditional cottages, some in ruins
The old Bonavita garden, now passable thanks to the restoration of the site
Two possible variations
The route offers two possible loops:
On the outward journey, walk along the right-hand side of the Bonavita garden
On the return journey, passing the threshing floor on the heights, always keeping to the right of the main route.
This diversions takes you closer to the seaside, offering a variety of views and moods, with Mediterranean vegetation, the scent of scrubland and the glimmer of the sea.
