It is in the interior of Balagne, where centuries-old olive trees thrive, that the Meridianu group was born.
Like the roots of the tree of peace, it is in this land steeped in history that Meridianu draws the inspiration and strength that he expresses in his songs.
For the group, cultural heritage is in fact the foundation on which the present is built and from which the future is forged.
This observation is verified every day with regard to singing and Meridianu has chosen to rely on the richness of a heritage largely saved from oblivion thanks to the research and recording work carried out by F. Quilici or F. Flori among others.
Meridianu strives today to continue this mission by going to the villages to search for the latest songs which can still be found today. However, it is not a question of taking refuge in a backward-looking attitude. Indeed, if a significant effort is made to restore the authenticity of the songs of Corsica of yesteryear, it is naturally from these solid bases that the group sings the experience of the present time.
The choice of complementarity between tradition and modernity constitutes the natural approach.
The repertoire, whose content is rich in numerous creations, is also distinguished by the diversity of themes addressed and a desire to be open to the world, as the name Meridianu suggests.
