Interview met Jean Damien Pietri, leidinggevende bij A Montagnola

Specialist in begeleidde en onbegeleidde wandeltochten op Corsica

The objective of our tours is to make the splendour of the landscapes and the diversity of our villages accessible to all and to allow our walkers to experience and appreciate our rural way of life for a few days, seeing Corsica from the inside….

Can you tell us about your company A Montagnola, which specialises in walking tours?

We are the leading specialist in guided and independent walking tours, and we have helped people to discover all of Corsica's massifs and mountains.

I am one of Corsica’s leading certified mountain guides and, thanks to an expertise that has been acquired over many years, we have been able to develop a range of circuits across the whole of Corsica.

The company offers a wide range of circuits for groups as well as individuals right across the Isle of Beauty, at sea and in the mountains. Our office is based in the island’s rural heart: Quenza in Alta Rocca, with a team of guides across the whole territory and a web site that allows guests to book on-line.

What is your philosophy?

Whilst always bearing in mind the difficulty of our routes and of the terrain, for us the sporting element is secondary.

It is predominantly all about discovering the natural and human environment of our country in an intelligent way.

The objective of our tours is to make the splendour of the landscapes and the diversity of our villages accessible to all and to allow our walkers to experience and appreciate our rural way of life for a few days, seeing Corsica from the inside….

What are the different products that you offer to walkers?

Baggage transfers to help them discover the area with greater ease.

* guided week long tours from April until the end of September for individuals (setting off every Monday)

* independent itineraries, without guides, from 3 to 15 days, that allow visitors to criss-cross the massifs, from the mountains to the sea, and that depart on a date of their choosing.
