L'Alba's music is characterized by its Mediterranean sounds, its voices deeply rooted in tradition and its set of eclectic instruments. The attention paid to composition and arrangement gives his polyphonic songs a singular character. The singing musicians of L'Alba like to say that their Corsican musical tradition is not fixed, but on the contrary living, evolving, in movement. For several years, the group has surrounded itself with an increasingly large collective around its core. Musicians with exceptional talent joined the group by getting involved in its musical universe, like Régis Gizavo whose enthusiasm for participating in this adventure was always perceptible.
The Indian harmonium, bass and guitar constitute the basis of L'Alba's music, while the improvising soloists (violin, wind instruments) adapt to their phrasing the melismas characteristic of ancestral polyphonic singing which they also practice. The polyphonic vocal ensemble serving the voice carrying the main melody always intervenes while respecting the aesthetics of traditional singing.
L’Alba offers an invitation to travel, to each different concert; the listener always lets himself be carried towards other lands, as the variations are diverse and the musical palette is wide. During this trip, the singing tour consists mainly of creations, accompanied by a few traditional pieces sung by three a cappella, faithful to ancestral agro-pastoral practice.
