Hike to the rhythm of the sea with Couleur Corse.
Between the Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian seas, the Corsican mountains are blessed with a varied landscape and ambiance.
This tour offers the advantage of "tasting" Corsica’s rich nature, discovering the varied levels of the landscape, from the alpine and mineral qualities of the high peaks to the sea of the Gulf of Porto (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Day 1: Corte – the historic capital of Corsica and The Tavignanu Gorges
Early morning meeting at Ajaccio train station and travel by train to Corte. On the first day, swim in the Tavignanu river, visit the historical capital and spend the rest of the evening and night in Corte.
Day 2: Transhumance paths
Near the river, the path leaves the houses behind and winds up to the Verghju pass (1477 m), the other gateway to Valley of Niolu. You’ll have magnificent views of the island peaks throughout the day’s walking. Overnight in Castel di Vergio.
Day 3: Lake Ninu - Radule Waterfalls
You can choose from two hikes on the GR20: In the North, in the heart of the volcanic massif of Paglia Orba, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the lofty mountains. Stop at the sheep pastures and swim under the waterfalls of Radul. In the South, discover Lake Ninu, relaxing in this verdant setting is the most beautiful reward that a hiker can dream of. Overnight in Castel di Vergio.
Day 4: The natural pools of Aïtone
This hike takes you to the western slopes of the island. Cross the Verghju Pass and descend the Aïtone Valley, famous for its Laricio pine forest and natural pools. You reach the village of Evisa by the Chemin des châtaigniers (chestnut tree path). Overnight in Evisa.
Day 5: The gorges of the Spelunca and its Genoese bridges
Following an old stone path, descend the Gorges de la Spelunca: the mountain vegetation gradually gives way to Mediterranean species. Via a hike along a ridge above the sea, you arrive at the beach of Porto: a symbolic end point of your journey. Overnight in Porto.
Day 6: Visit of the Scandola Nature Reserve
Maritime visit of the Scandola Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a stop in Girolata, a small fishing village that is inaccessible by road. Overnight in Porto.
