Meet Jean-Marc Hubert, Event’Com Travel Manager

Incentive and team building in Corsica - Corporate seminar in Corsica - Organization of congresses in Corsica

We mainly offer ‘made to measure’ products, according to the needs, defined budgets and wishes of the client.

What’s your story in the MICE sector and why did you focus on this segment?

My involvement in the business sector dates back to 1994. I was already working in the leisure industry and everything began in the car park at Ajaccio airport. A Scandinavian group and its leader, representing one of the most important MICE agencies of the time (ITI), found themselves without transfers, without assistance, and unable to communicate in French due to group mismanagement. At that time, it was not known exactly what the organisation of this type of business stay represented, so it was a niche to exploit and I seized the opportunity. There followed many meetings with Parisian agencies, exchanges and organisation of events of all kinds, and we’re constantly adapting to the changing market and consumption patterns.

How do you communicate about the destination to prospective clients?

We privilege the newsletter circuit and of course social networks, and participate in many exhibitions and workshops to meet the decision-makers and diversify our clientele. We also organise familiarisation trips to promote the destination.

What types of products do you offer and for what type of client?

We mainly offer ‘made to measure’ products, according to the needs, defined budgets and wishes of the client. In general the requests are directed from 3- to 5-star hotels as well as more unusual accommodation, and we offer a wide range of accompanying water and nature activities chosen according to the location and inclination of the group. We also offer tariffed call products with stays already developed on a group basis, which can be modified and amended according to the budgets allocated to the event.

What added value makes you attractive to clients?

We are the interlocutor from the beginning to the end of the project and answer every problem, offer a framework on all operations, and rigorously select providers according to the criteria standards in force (insurance, patents and professionalism). All the restaurants we offer are tested in the pre-season and we particularly favour restaurants that work with fresh and local produce.

How do you sell the destination to clients?

Corsica is close to other major European cities, boasts an unspoilt environment, a territory conducive to incentive activities, and great hotels and hospitality.
