Ajaccio and the surrounding area

The hotels with the most 4* and 5* accommodation capacity are to be found in the Greater Ajaccio area which accounts for 55% of the events sector.

Ajaccio city is best suited to holding seminars, conferences and conventions in large numbers due to the existence of dedicated infrastructure. And consequently, the majority of conventions are held here, as the facilities available are of international class. The Ajaccio Convention Centre [Palais des Congrès] and its auditorium, with capacity for 434 people, is particularly popular, given it’s ideal location in the city centre by the harbour. it also has 9 sub-committee rooms, the largest of which can host up to 200 people, and a 920 m² exhibition hall with standing capacity for 800, while its restaurant offers a panoramic view over the bay of Ajaccio and can seat 450. 

To sum up, the Greater Ajaccio area can offer a range of hotel facilities tailored to this clientele, and with some of the highest accommodation capacity.

AJACCIO

Campo dell’Oro**** overlooking the sea and not far from the airport, Campo dell’Oro currently has 138 bedrooms offering full hotel service as well as 9 customisable reception rooms, conference capacity for 100 people, a restaurant, pool, large terrace and gardens.

Best Western Amirauté****  - this hotel has 129 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant, a vast sun terrace with a heated pool, 9 customisable reception and meeting rooms, and a maximum conference capacity of 100 people.

Hotels in Ajaccio city centre

This city, rich in cultural heritage, bustles with life every morning around its new covered market. It’s also home to many charming hotels that remain open throughout the year to welcome visiting business travellers.

Hôtel Fesch *** with an address on the pedestrian street that shares its name, this hotel, which has just undergone a full renovation of its facilities, boasts 80 guestrooms, a new wellbeing space comprising a spa, hammam and jacuzzi, as well as a fitness room, and most impressively, a rooftop area with a panoramic view over the gulf below, in addition to a solarium area, heated pool, restaurant and lounge bar, where guests can enjoy events and cocktails.

Hôtel Napoléon*** with 62 fully revamped cosy and stylish guestrooms, this urban hotel, less than 100m from the main thoroughfare, is a charming alternative for business travellers.

Hôtel San Carlu*** with 40 guestrooms, business guests will appreciate the building’s old town location, opposite the citadel and in immediate proximity to the city’s various business centres,

Hôtel Palazzu U Domu**** this hotel’s 45 guestrooms are housed in a former palace, in the heart of the old town, 300m from the beach and in very near the city’s various business centres.

The Route des Iles Sanguinaires will lead you straight to a number of charming hotels and other attractive areas by the sea.

Hôtel les Mouettes**** in addition to its 28 guestrooms, this hotel also has a meeting room that can host 25 for a conference and 30 for a cocktail reception, a terrace overlooking the sea and a range of bespoke services.

Dolce Vita**** This property has 32 bedrooms, 1 meeting room with conference capacity for 80 and a terrace overlooking the sea with a capacity of over 100,

Cala di Sole*** this hotel boasts 31 sea facing guestrooms, 2 reception rooms, conference capacity of 40 people, and a sea facing terrace with a cocktail reception capacity of 100 people.

The Pieve de l’Ornano - South Bank of the Gulf of Ajaccio

The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa**** The Radisson Blu has 170 guestrooms, 7 meeting rooms with high tech facilities covering a total of 400m², with the largest of these, at 270 m², able to host 250 conference attendees. It also has a dedicated team for MICE clients, a spa, pool, restaurant, lounge bar and a terrace overlooking the sea that is perfectly suited to receptions. All kinds of incentive activities are available and can be organised from the hotel.

Sofitel Golfe d’Ajaccio Thalassa Sea & Spa *****With 98 guestrooms and suites and 10 customisable reception rooms boasting a maximum conference capacity of 180 people, this property, in its idyllic setting, hosts many events every year. Its gardens are perfect for cocktail receptions of up to 300 people and there is also a thalasso and spa, and a restaurant.

Marina Viva*** This seafront Club Hotel has 331 guestrooms, 6 customisable reception rooms, conference capacity for 250 people as well as a bar and terrace that can also host 250. A range of activities are available to guests.

PORTO-POLLO

Golfe Hôtel & SPA***** an hour’s drive from Ajaccio, this stylish, luxury hotel, comprising 20 guestrooms and suites, in an idyllic seafront location, offers everything a business traveller could want for a stay in which business meetings are pleasantly punctuated by the array of activities on offer. There’s also a restaurant serving local seasonal produce, a pool, bar and “Casanera” spa, providing organic treatments with products made from Corsican scrub. A seminar room offering panoramic sea views has capacity for 20 people.

Western Corsica

The West coast is cut with ochre cliffs that shelter little fishing ports and some natural wonders, such as the Gulf of Porto, the Calanques de Piana and their red granite peaks, the beautiful forest of Aïtone and the Scandola Natural Reserve replete with magnificent seabeds. Inland, forests, hillside villages, vineyards and orchards complete the terrain.

Hôtel Capo Rossu**** sitting at 435 metres altitude, the Hotel Capo Rossu dominates “the Calaques de Piana", and can offer 44 guestrooms with panoramic sea views, a heated pool and a fish and seafood restaurant (with lobster a particular speciality). Its atmosphere is warm and intimate.

Castel d’Orcino*** this charming hotel with its 33 guestrooms, can be found in the bay of Liscia, between mountain and sea, and offers a range of beach, sea and nature based activities in a beautiful setting.

The Sartenais-Valinco-Taravo Area

With its crystalline waters, rivers and leafy scrub, as well as hilltop villages, prehistoric sites and classic alleyways, this area is an authentic landscape combining coastal stretches with inland terrain. … All of Corsica within easy reach!

It also offers a wealth of choices for incentives, which could include a hike to Campomoro, bathing in hot sulphurous water or visits to the sites of Cauria or Filitosa. Alternatively, you could walk to the lighthouse at Senetosa or stop off at the Lion of Roccapina. When it comes to accommodation, there’s a huge variety to choose from, including a number of very high end establishments.

The Ortolo Valley, Sartène

Domaine de Murtoli*****, this property comprises twenty restored shepherd’s houses and sheep folds, dating back to the 17th century, including 8 houses with 3 bedrooms and more. There are around 40 guestrooms available for private rental in total. And despite its unique agrotourism concept spread over 2,500 hectares of unspoilt nature, between sea, scrub and mountains, a daily hotel service is provided. All or almost all houses have their own private pool. Murtoli offers an intimate and authentic experience off the beaten track and distinguishes itself with a plural offering in a single location and a great many activities: the beach, treasure hunts, wine courses, vineyard visits, Corsican cookery classes, hikes, botanical and/or archaeological walks as well as golf etc. It also has 3 restaurants, which can do all sorts - including aperitifs, cocktails, buffets and gala dinners  and a fully equipped 70 m² seminar room can host up to thirty people. PROPRIANO

Miramar Boutique Hotel***** in addition to its refined decor and 26 guestrooms, suites and villas, a pool, spa and gym, this hotel is also near the beach and offers panoramic views. Business guests can make use of a 60 m² meeting room with a 40 person capacity in theatre layout.

Marinca Hôtel & Spa *****  this waterfront hotel in Olmeto Plage opposite Propriano has 39 guestrooms, 15 suites and 1 six bedroom villa. It offers beach access and has 3 outdoor pools looking onto the sea as well as gourmet and beach restaurants, a spa and indoor heated pool. Its seven customisable reception rooms can host up to 120 conference attendees.

Bartaccia **** the owners of this charming hotel resplendent in its own leafy grounds and offering panoramic views, know how to give a warm welcome in terms of conviviality and wellbeing. The premises also offer a south-facing reception room lit by natural light in the daytime with capacity for up to 100 people inside and 300 people outside. This is used for all types of professional events and receptions.

Belambra Club-Arena Bianca*** this seafront property opposite the gulf of Valinco, has 111 guestrooms, a bar-lounge for events and evenings, and a seminar room.

Hôtel Roc e Mare*** with 62 guestrooms and a private beach (with direct access via a shady stairway), guests may find themselves drawn to lounging and bathing but given the proximity of many water-based activities, it’s also possible to be active. The hotel’s seminar room can host 50 for meetings and 90 for cocktail receptions.

Southern Corsica - Porto-Vecchio & Bonifacio

Renowned for its prestigious establishments, unspoilt coastline, idyllic beaches and night life, the roads of southern Corsica lead inland between sea, scrub, villages, lakes and forest. The full range of contrast is here, with this authentic green lung not far from Porto-Vecchio, offering a slice of nature very much conducive to incentive activities. This same town is also home to the “Jean-Paul de Rocca Serra” convention centre in the heart of its historic centre, which houses a 350 seat amphitheatre and a 120 seat reception room, creating many options when planning events.

Meanwhile, the town of Bonifacio and its reception rooms have always been of strong historic interest and are habitually used to host events of all kinds. While its labyrinth of paved streets and its citadel, like a real life open air museum overlooking the cliffs, will delight those who love to discover unordinary places, and enjoying spectacular walks by the cliffs or coastal paths leading to idyllic coves and beaches.

PORTO-VECCHIO

Porto-Vecchio

Hôtel Casadelmar***** with 31 guestrooms and a private villa with its own 250 m² pool big enough for 8 people, this hotel can be fully booked out for exclusive private use. BONIFACIO

Rich in events and festivities, the town of Bonifacio welcomes business travellers to its many charming hotels, with incentives also accounting for a significant portion of its business.

Le Capu Biancu**** in its unspoilt location by the sea, this property has 43 guestrooms and 5 villas nested amid the island scrub, as well as several unordinary spaces for holding considered professional events such as workshops. It can provide high tech equipment, and also has a restaurant, paillote, gym, pool and spa treatments.

Hôtel Genovese**** this charming 15 bedroom property fully renovated in revisited classic style, can be found in the heart of the old town. It has a pool with a fantastic view over Bonifacio harbour and the Citadel.

A Cheda**** with 18 guestrooms and a seminar room for 8 and 10 people, this hotel looks out onto an oasis of green space. It has a garden and organic vegetable plot and a pool, gourmet restaurant and wellbeing centre.

And finally, regarding travel on the island, please remember that Corsica has put all measures in place to ensure the health safety of those that visit it and that all companies are implementing procedures to ensure the health safety of their clients and staff. Everyone doing their part by complying with preventative measures will ensure worry-free stays for all.

A specific requirement is in place for journeys to Corsica: passengers must have taken an RT-PCR test within the 72 hours before departure.

Thus, since Saturday 6 February and until further notice, passengers aged 11 and over wishing to travel to Corsica must show the following two documents on boarding:

  Their already existing declaration,

  Proof of having taken an RT-PCR test less than 72h prior to travelling.
