"Going scuba diving with a professional who is a member of an approved club considerably reduces any risks".

You're all set, you've found a professional to dive with in the blue waters of Corsica, but here's a quick reminder of the basic rules to bear in mind ...

Before you dive :

1. Eat a healthy diet, favouring slow sugars and avoiding foods that are too rich.

2. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration (water, tea or fruit juice), and of course avoid alcohol.

3. Review your safety basics, self-assess and don't think you're going beyond your current limits.

During the dive:

4. Never dive solo

5. Keep an eye on your buddy and never move more than 2 m away from him or her.

6. Check your ascent and scrupulously respect your decompression stops.

After the dive:

7. Respect the time limit for a new dive (several hours are recommended)

8. Do not engage in sport

9. Do not fly

10. Before, during or after the dive, listen to your body and do not take lightly any symptoms (nausea, fatigue, vomiting, etc.).
