A Santa di u Niolu

Date : 8 September 2023 at Casamaccioli

A Santa di u Niolu , Corsica's oldest fair, has been bringing together countless devotees from all over Corsica every 8 September for around 5 centuries. They gather in Casamaccioli, a village nestling in the heart of the Niolu in Haute-Corse, to celebrate the birth of the Virgin Mary.

This fair, with its centuries-long history, attracts a host of exhibitors every year. These exhibitors showcase a variety of local products, from honey to chocolate and Corsican charcuterie.

This celebration is a time for sharing culture and perpetuating traditions. Open-air activities, cultural discoveries and impromptu singing competitions are all part of the festive program.

Lthe fig fair

Dates: 2 & 3 September 2023 at Peri

Explore the fig and its many facets at the fair celebrating this emblematic fruit. The program includes tasting sessions and discovery opportunities, highlighting the fruit and its role in Corsican agriculture. "A fiera di u Ficu," as it is known in Corsican, will put the spotlight on the fig, a singular fruit that has enriched the culinary heritage of the Isle of beauty for many decades.

Since 2003, the fig fair has been a major event in the Greater Ajaccio region. Its main objective is to raise awareness of the world of figs among professionals and individuals alike.

Whether used as a gourmet jam, a delectable dessert, a subtle accompaniment to a tasty Corsican cheese or simply on its own, the fig lends itself to a wide range of culinary interpretations.

Throughout this convivial weekend, you'll have the opportunity to meet local craftsmen and discover their precious know-how, all in an authentically Nustrale atmosphere.
