A night at Maison Battisti in Conchigliu in Cap Corse

I just love these rooms!

Michel, Marie-Pierre and their daughter Justine warmly and kindly welcome visitors all year round to their home, "Maison Battisti", in Conchigliu, a small village in Cap Corse. 2 guest rooms and 1 independent gîte are available. Tastefully decorated accommodation welcomes lovers of elegance and of serenity. With your booking comes the table d'hôte and its seasonal products.

A great family, a unique place

Chic, cosy, authentic, warm… I could continue to use and abuse adjectives to define the guest rooms at Maison Battisti. The best thing is to stay, as I did for two days, for a memorable experience in Conchigliu.

Michel received me warmly and invited me to make myself comfortable in my room. A lovely surprise awaited me in the form of neat decoration, solid wood furniture, delicately scented bed linen, pretty bedside lamps, a large bathroom with walk-in shower, thick towels and an incredible view of the sea and the surrounding countryside...I eagerly looked forward to watching the spectacle of the sunset! Meanwhile I took in the surroundings... The garden was seasonably splendid, the imposing trellis orange-yellow, with a Greek statue seeming to watch over the place.

Just like the house, the exterior is also neat and tidy. The area for boules, set up a little lower down, will doubtlessly host frenzied parties in fine weather! An authentic little pagliaghju is a reminder that the house has been there for decades... The slate roofs, the fading daylight and the windows lighting up little by little in the village added a mysterious yet pleasant feel to this beautiful moment.

I then met Marie Pierre and Justine, mother and daughter who are very attached to the family roots originating in this ancestral home. The ancestors, winegrowers of the region, built this house in the 18th century. They look after me very well, with great attention to detail and caring for the well-being of visitors.

Michel prepared the meal, and as a former chef he surprises his visitors with his top quality dishes. That evening I decided to feast on delicious small dishes made using short circuit products, such as charcuterie, cheese, wild boar in sauce. A treat to end the evening in style.

The corner shop with infinite temptations!

Marie Pierre came up with the wonderful idea of opening a delicatessen just in front of the house. It offers quality Corsican products, including canistrelli, honey, olive oil, wine, jams, fruit juices as well as jewellery, perfumes and soaps.
