100% outdoors

Corsica offers a unique concentration of adventure terrains supporting multitude of activities. It’s the ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year: walks and hikes, horseback riding, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding, snowsports, excursions by 4X4, and cycling to discover the inland villages. For those who prefer the joys of rafting or canyoning, the rivers of the island will jostle you through grandiose scenery. The kayak even has its own festival of international renown that will delight outdoor fans.

ON FOOT: In Corsica, each season leaves its mark on the environment. With almost 1,500km of marked trails and over 1,350 beds in stopovers or shelters, the Corsica Regional Natural Park offers beautiful hiking opportunities to discover rare fauna and flora, where more than 2,000 plant species flourish. Experienced hikers can tackle the infamous GR20, conquer the Aiguilles de Bavella or dive into the natural pools of the Restonica gorges – there are so many majestic landscapes that render this land surprising and moving all at once. With family or friends, outdoor sports are the best way to see the wilderness. No matter the time of year, the island of beauty is always a sight to behold.

BY BIKE: There are cycling trails to suit everyone in Corsica. The Niolu valley and its mountain trails are recommended for the more adventurous. Others can choose coastal routes or cross the villages. Take the time to pause and chat with locals; they will advise you of little-known tracks and hidden gems. The longer circuits are also stunning: make a detour via the Cuscione plateau, playground of top athletes.

ON HORSEBACK: The Balagne, the area around Corte and the coastline of the Desert des Agriates and the Rizzanese valley will satisfy those who love great open spaces. The 1,900 kilometres of trails criss-crossing the island are the gateway to your explorations on horseback.

IN THE AIR, FREE FLIGHT: In terms of its natural beauty and its activities, the island is a land of extremes. ‘Corsica seen from the sky’ is so much more than a slogan – it’s an enticing promise! Paragliding offers you a magical show. For a few moments, you will have the sensation of touching the heavens. Once you relax and the initial fear fades, a wonderful feeling of lightness takes over as you gain altitude. Experience Cap Corse and the fabulous sites of Teghime and Nonza, land inspired by legendary singers. Beneath a parachute, the entire island landscape will reveal its surprises. This ‘mountain in the sea’ is, undoubtedly, a paradise for outdoor sports. And why not end your day with an introduction to clay pigeon shooting, or take a kite out on the beach? So many possibilities to make the most of the great outdoors.
