Cascade des Anglais ©adobestock
Nestled in the heart of the Vizzavona forest, the Cascade des Anglais is one of Corsica's most famous family walks. The easy, shaded trail runs alongside the Agnone River. It leads to a series of natural pools and small waterfalls. Children can explore the rocks, play in the clear water and picnic under the Laricio pines. This hike is ideal for introducing younger children to walking. It allows you to enjoy the cool mountain air, especially in summer.
Want to learn something new while out for a walk? Head to Alta Rocca , where you'll find the Cucuruzzu and Capula trail. This trail immerses young and old alike in Corsican prehistory. This accessible walk winds through a forest of holm oaks and leads you to two major archaeological sites: the Casteddu di Cucuruzzu (a Bronze Age fortress) and the medieval site of Capula. A child-friendly audio guide is available at reception to make the visit even more enjoyable.
The Cuscione plateau , perched at an altitude of over 1,400 metres, is a vast expanse of freedom where nature reigns supreme. Several marked trails, varying in difficulty but always accessible, cross pozzines, streams and meadows. It is often possible to encounter horses, cows or pigs roaming freely. The plateau is perfect for a full day out with the family: hiking, picnicking and observing the flora and fauna.

Struccia Waterfall ©adobestock
Less well known but just as charming, the hike to the Struccia waterfall is perfect for families with young children. The short, well-marked trail winds through lush countryside and ends at a stunning waterfall. The spot is peaceful, ideal for a cool break or a snack by the water. The Castagniccia , with its chestnut trees and small villages, invites you to explore off the beaten track.
Lake Ninu ©adobestock
For sporty families or those with children who are already used to walking, Lake Nino is a must-see hike. From the Vergio Pass, the trail climbs gently through the forest before opening out onto a high plateau where horses and cows graze freely. Nestled in the centre of Corsica, this trail is known for its heritage value as well as its landscapes. Lake Nino is surrounded by pozzines, thick grassy lawns dotted with small wells, creating a magical setting.
Corsica is a dream destination for families who love nature. Its trails offer a wide variety of landscapes: forests, rivers, mountains, lakes, historical sites... The hikes are often short and well marked. Hiking in Corsica is also an opportunity to teach young people about environmental protection and local flora and fauna.Good to know: the flora and fauna are fragile, so take care of them. Stay on the marked trails and do not throw anything on the ground. Bring a bag to put your rubbish in so that you can dispose of it later. Respect the animals' peace and quiet by avoiding making noise and keeping your distance.
