Whether you're in a group or on your own, here are some important safety rules for outdoor activities

When snowshoeing or hiking, everyone's safety is an absolute priority. We'd like to remind you of a few important rules to ensure you have a safe outing in the great outdoors.

  • Proper equipment: Make sure you wear warm, waterproof clothing and appropriate hiking boots. Snowshoes, if you have chosen this activity, should fit snugly, and walking poles are recommended for optimal stability.

  • Weather conditions: Before setting off, check the local weather conditions and adapt your equipment accordingly. In the event of extreme conditions, the activity may be modified or cancelled for safety reasons.

  • Communication :  Keep in touch with your guide, if you have one, at all times. Listen carefully to safety instructions and follow the pace of the group. In the event of a problem, do not hesitate to report any concerns immediately to your guide. If you're going out on your own, make sure you leave with a charged phone and inform those around you of your itinerary.

  • Off-piste : Respect the routes set out by the guides and/or competent authorities and avoid unauthorised areas. The mountains can be unpredictable, and care is essential to ensure everyone's safety.

  • Waste management : Respect the environment by taking your waste with you. Preserve the natual beauty of the places you are lucky to visit.

  • Emergency assistance : Be aware of the location of first aid and emergency communication facilities.
