Day 1: Sartène, land of origins
On your arrival at Figari airport, take the direction of Sartène. On the road do not miss the famous lion of Roccapina and its dream cove. Once you arrive in Sartène, begin your city tour at Place de la Liberation, where the war memorial stands dominated by the town hall and the imposing Sainte Marie church. Continue through the Santa Anna district. It is by passing under the vault of the town hall that one enters this district which has retained a medieval allure. Observe its maze of small paved alleys, linked together by stairs, small passages and arches, lined with gray granite houses. Then visit the Corsican Prehistory Museum in rue Croce. Breakfast. Explore the archaeological sites of the region, including the alignments of Padaghju and the megaliths of Cauria: from Sartène, take the road towards Bonifacio (N 196) to Rocca Albitrina and turn right towards Tizzano (D 48) . A branch to the left leads to the Cauria plateau where there are dolmens and menhirs. Take the D 48 again to discover the Paddaghiu alignments (concentration of 258 monoliths). This road towards the coast takes you to Tizzano and its small fishing port. 8 km from Sartène and at an altitude of 1217 meters, for the more athletic, access to Uomo di Cagna (from the small village of Gianuccio, 4 to 5 hours' walk). The arrival at this huge smooth rock which emerges from a mass of granite rocks, as if to better look at the sea, is breathtaking. Overnight in Propriano.

At the Rena Bianca bridge over the Rizzanese, between Propriano and Sartène, take the branch towards Campomoro (D 121), pass Tavaria aerodrome and Portigliolo beach to reach Belvédère and descend to Campomoro where the incomparable turn Génoise never ceases to count its admiring visitors. Lunch in Campomoro. Continue on your way and enter Propriano. Visit this charming town and its small marina. From the Santa Giulia crossroads to the Propriano exit, join Viggianello by the D 19 for a panoramic view of the Gulf of Valinco. This road will take you to Arbellara and Fozzano where a famous vendetta inspired Prosper Mérimée's novel "Colomba". It will then lead you to Sainte Marie Figaniella and the hamlet of Giacomoni. Finally, a track will take you through red rock foothills, to the state forest of Vadde Mala and to the hamlet of Burgo. At the crossroads following the hamlet of Burgo, turn right to reach Olmeto or left towards Propriano through the Bains de Baracci. Return to Propriano and overnight.

Between Olmeto and Propriano, on the national road 196, at the Marinca crossroads, take the departmental road 157 towards Olmeto-Plage and follow the coast to the bridge that crosses the Taravo. On the left, after the bridge, the D 757 will lead you to Porto Pollo, a small fishing port which is worth a visit. Breakfast.
