An old Greek colony, Cargèse celebrates Easter in its Orthodox church, following its own ritual conducted by the Archimandrite. Songs and lamentations in an unlit church on the evening of Good Friday: candlelight ceremonies for the return of light on Easter Saturday, Greek Orthodox ritual chanting at midnight are the expression of the mystical atmosphere which impregnates these ceremonies. On Easter Monday there is a procession during which a Greek colony Sainte Icone is shown to all four points of the compass.

Jeudi : 18h00 : Eglise Latine : Cérémonie du lavement des pieds 21h30 : Eglise Latine : Procession Mise au tombeau Vendredi : 21h30 : Eglise Grecque : Procession : Complaintes suivies de la procession, au cours de laquelle on porte « l’Epitaphios » ou linceul représentant la mise au tombeau Samedi : 9h45 : Eglise Grecque : Divine liturgie de Saint Basile 21h00 : Eglise Latine : Cérémonie du feu nouveau 23h30 : Eglise Grecque : Divine liturgie. Cérémonie du feu nouveau. Cérémonie de l’Anastasis, Chant du « Christos anesti », honneurs rendus au drapeau des ancêtres Dimanche : 11h00 : Eglise Latine : Messe solennelle Lundi : 9h30 : Eglise Grecque : Divine liturgie de Saint Jean Chrysostome suivie de la traditionnelle procession dans le village accompagnée de nombreuses confréries. Bénédiction des campagnes (les horaires des messes peuvent faire l'objet de modifications).
