For its 3rd edition, the ISULIMONDI festival continues its journey and prepares to discover new island climates and new archipelagos that we can now announce:

Cape Verde, Madeira and the Azores

Nevertheless, this year's programme will be enriched at the start of the summer by a return to the second edition, devoted to Japanese culture.

So why a second edition of the Corsica-Japan Festival?

Following on from the 2024 Festival, which was a resounding success in terms of the number and diversity of participants, its media impact, the eclecticism and quality of the cultural events offered to the public and the cooperation projects it generated, the ISULIMONI association is continuing its activities with the Japanese archipelago, so many are the cultural fields in which Corsica and Japan are in harmony.

Act II of the Corsica-Japan Festival will deepen the cooperation projects discussed at the 2024 Festival, and explore new ones, always in the same spirit of highlighting their singularities and convergences through several themes: architecture, women in island societies, ceramics, photography, cinema, literature, Kyudô, Yabusame, Kokedama, Haïku, all in a variety of forms: lectures, demonstrations, films, documentaries, round tables, workshops and literary encounters.

If these exchanges are sustained over the long term, they will build a foundation of trust and mutual understanding, which is essential for cultural cooperation and its socio-economic impact. Our ambition for Corsica and Japan is to look at each other and appreciate each other more, to exchange their specificities without isolating themselves, to energise their cultures, to change while remaining themselves.

Over and above the beauty of the exhibitions and the richness of the cultural exchanges, other intangible links were forged last year, with the conviviality, authenticity, sincerity, enthusiasm and cordiality that emerged from our festival. These are essential catalysts that we will continue to promote in 2025 for Act II of our Corsica-Japan Festival.
