Presentation

In Cantu is a vocal ensemble devoted primarily to Corsican polyphony. The group brings together artists from both prestigious Corsican groups (Canta u Populu Corsu, Caramusa...) and the world of opera, driven by the desire to return to the roots of polyphonic singing, uncluttered and authentic.

In Cantu aims to be a bridge in the transmission of the polyphonic tradition for audiences on the island, but also to bear witness to the vitality of Corsican culture for audiences from other horizons.

Its repertoire is made up exclusively of songs performed a cappella, and includes both sacred songs (masses from Sermanu, Rusiu, Sartè, etc.) and secular songs (paghjelle, madrigali, terzetti, etc.), as well as its own creations, in a programme that alternates very old tunes from a centuries-old tradition with contemporary works.
