PROGRAMME

Maroussia GENTET

Wednesday 30 July 2025 Palais des Gouverneurs, Bastia 9.15pm

A fervent interpreter of 21st-century music, Maroussia Gentet cultivates a varied repertoire, particularly that of the 19th and 20th centuries, as demonstrated by her latest CD, 'Invocations', featuring Ravel's Miroirs, which won five Diapasons and a Coup de coeur from the Académie Charles Cros, and her forthcoming CD of Chopin's Preludes, a mirror image of those by Ramon Lazkano, with the Ensemble Cairn.

Winner of the Blanche Selva First Prize and five special prizes at the 2018 Orléans International Piano Competition, she has dedicated works by Madeleine Isaksson, Alex Nante, Philippe Schoeller, Hèctor Parra and Giulia Lorusso. Her passion for research and transmission led her to a doctorate in Music at the CNSMD in Paris, in partnership with Sorbonne University, with a thesis entitled "Au coeur du sens de l'expérience pianistique, construire la temporalité par la présence au mouvement".

Konstantin EMELYANOV

Friday 01 August 2025 Palais des Gouverneurs, Bastia 9.15pm

Having won the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, the Viotti Competition, the International Piano Forum in Franckfurt in 2022 and the Rina Sala Gallo Competition in 2024, Russian pianist Konstantin Emelyanov has naturally taken his place among the greatest pianists of his generation.

His technical mastery enables him to tackle the greatest works of the repertoire with an ease that leaves room for narrative intelligence and a constant quest for sound control. His clear, brilliant playing is free of mannerisms and highly intelligent, enabling him to embrace a wide repertoire. The programme he will perform at the Palais des Gouverneurs will reflect this.

Arsenii MOON

Sunday 03 August 2025 Théâtre de Verdure d'Erbalunga 9.15pm

Winner of the 2023 Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, Arsenii Moon has also won the prestigious Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize. Particularly gifted, Arsenii Moon studied with Alexander Sandler at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in his native St Petersburg. His signing of a CD devoted to Claude Debussy for the prestigious Deutsch Grammophon label in 2024 is no stranger to success. Arsenii Moon is a pianist to be followed with great interest, with a style of great modesty and magnificent Chopin playing that is as impressive in the great pieces of the repertoire as it is in the 'miniatures'.

Julien LIBEER

Tuesday 05 August 2025 Théâtre de Verdure d Erbalunga 9.15pm

An admirer of Romanian pianist Dinu Lipatti, this singular pianist worked with teachers such as Jean Fassina and Daniel Blumenthal before taking a 5-year course under the tutelage of Maria Joao Pires at Belgium's prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. He will be sharing the stage with this great lady of the piano. This free thinker of music, with his independent character, has never sought to enter a competition. He has devoted himself largely to building up a vast repertoire, his main concern being to develop a thoughtful, personal reading of the works, a far cry from the classical textual readings we are so often confronted with.
