IN GIRU is an open-air artistic itinerary, designed as an invitation to take a fresh look at the landscapes and heritage of Greater Bastia.
Through the exhibition of six monumental sculptures by Richard Orlinski, contemporary art is integrated into the public space, transforming the region's emblematic sites into an open-air gallery accessible to all (Bastia - Furiani - E Ville di Petrabugnu - San Martinu di Lotu - Santa Maria di Lota).
Richard Orlinski has been the best-selling French contemporary artist in the world since 2015. He began his artistic career in 2004, creating his first work, a crocodile in bright red resin, which quickly became an iconic part of the sculptor's bestiary.
The artist draws his inspiration from pop culture, everyday objects and popular culture. Richard Orlinski quickly developed new sculptures, often animals, all symbols of freedom, power and passion. The result was electric, pop-coloured works with a faceted style that toured the world.
Driven by the desire to democratise art by making it accessible to as many people as possible, Richard Orlinski is interested in all means of expression, and his art knows no boundaries.
Over the years, Richard Orlinski has pushed back the boundaries of art further than any other artist of his generation. He has built up his legitimacy in different fields, making him the popular artist he is today.
