Rendezvous in the heart of the villages for the seventh edition of this festival for lovers of classical and traditional music.
A project founded in 2019, the Camerata brings together artists and musicians from Corsica and other European cities for an artistic season and a music festival held at the end of September.
As a nod to the cultural and linguistic relations between Tuscany and Corsica, the ensemble's name comes from the Camerata Fiorentina, known during the Renaissance as a place of intense artistic exchange.
The place where the musicians of the Camerata are based today, their own little Firenze, is the Corsican village of Figarella.
During the association's concerts, the artists are invited to take up residency in the village. The residency is followed by a series of concerts in local heritage venues: churches, auditoriums, and sometimes alleyways, gardens, squares and classrooms.
Camerata Figarella is a way of practising and developing music within a community; creating encounters, moments of sharing and, of course, passing on the art to the younger members of the community.
Each concert is a unique programme designed and created for the occasion.
The programmes focus on three areas: the chamber music repertoire, from masterpieces to little-known treasures. Original creations that reflect our desire to question history and modernity and to make them resonate in music. And last but not least, a focus on the linguistic, heritage and musical history of Corsica.
Ange Sierakowski and Lauriane Maudry are the artistic directors.
