A History of Tradition... Bringer of happiness, known also as ?breve, abitinu or scapulaire. Made in Corsica, respecting every tradition and always while reciting the secret incantation (ochju). Since the beginning of time, our ancestors would make amulets to protect us from the evil eye (malochju), a belief that has held sway right across the Mediterranean region. A small white cotton bag (symbolising purity) sown with red thread (the colour of blood, symbolising life) that a person traditionally keeps very close to the body. This scapulaire contains different protective elements : - Coral: This is animal, vegetable and mineral... It is a powerful amulet. - Salt is a symbol of life, it protects against the evil eye. - Olive leaves, wheat and rice all bring peace, strength and abundance. - The Virgin Mary, patron saint of Corsica, reminds us that the island has always enjoyed her careful protection.
