The Tour de Murtella is one of the most beautiful and impressive towers in Corsica. The tower stands right by the sea rather than on a hill, which explains why the eastern side has completely collapsed, probably as a result of waves crashing against the building during storms. The tower can either be reached by sea or, if you don't have a boat, via a footpath leading from Fornali cove, to the west of Saint Florent. If you take a public boat to Loto beach, then this will reduce the length of the walk to the tower.
