20228 Pino
Pino is another unusual village consisting of several hamlets built on the slopes of the mountain, with superb sea views. The village was once visited by Gustave Eiffel, whose daughter married a member of the Piccioni family here. One of the main sights in Pino is the mausoleum housing the tomb of Madame Eiffel, a veritable Petit Trianon decorated in pink and silver. Also well worth a visit is the picturesque marina of Scalu, as well as the large 19C tombs surrounded by cypress trees and umbrella pines. A very old house with a machicolated tower can be seen on the road towards Raffalacce, while a Franciscan monastery stands at sea level lower down the mountain.
