Presentation

San Gavinu is a small village nestled in the midst of a beautiful and luxurious natural environment that is made up of chestnut trees, oaks that are sometimes centuries old and a maquis that the passing seasons render ever more beautiful. Originally, it was just a small village on a migration route at an altitude of 450 metres. It is surrounded by numerous sources of water, rivers, gushing torrents , pure and crystal clear springs, all of which provide so many spots for taking a refreshing swim, a rest, some climbing, fishing... This barrier of greenery, this hidden situation that isolates it from the outside world confers upon this little village a certain mystery, as well as authenticity and originality. Patronal fair: 17th January (Mass and rediscovery of Catastaghju). Not to be missed: The nocturnal procession of the penitent carrying the cross, every Good Friday. 25th August: For Saint Louis, Mass and Procession followed by a great ball that is loved by the young and by dancing enthusiasts from across the region. Mayor?s office Tel: 04 95 56 70 53 Fax: 04 95 56 76 17 Mayor: Vittori Philippe. Open every day from 9h to 11h
