Presentation

The most southerly of the communes in Haute-Corse welcomes you to its varied landscapes, from its long dune beaches to the Punta di Tintennaghja. Situated at an altitude of 500 metres and just 8 kilometres from the sea,
the village owes its name to its exceptional position facing the morning sun. The village's natural heritage is not to be outdone: over 9,000 hectares of unspoilt countryside boast a rich diversity of flora and fauna.

SIGHTSEEING
- Church of Saint Jean Baptiste: this church marks the site of the new village, replacing the former church of Saint Augustin. Sober on the outside, it hides its wonders within its walls. A path leads from the village to the church. There's an orientation table nearby where you can admire the scenery.
- The Marina de Solaro is a memorial to the Resistance and a key site for the Corsican Resistance during the Second World War. It pays tribute to those who liberated Corsica, the first free French department.
- San ghjuvanni baptismal church and watchtower: Remains of a very ancient human occupation.
