Presentation
An imposing statue of Christ the King. This statue is a gigantic monolith, measuring over 6 metres in height and standing on a 9.50-metre plinth not far from the road at the Vergio Pass, heading towards Evisa. It weighs 25 tonnes and is carved from pink granite. Created by the artist Noël Bonardi in 1984. An inlaid plaque bears this message of peace: ‘As I have loved you, so you must love one another’. It is one of the largest statues in Corsica.
