With its red rocky outcrops, crystal-clear water and small beach, the marina of Elbo is an idyllic spot at the northernmost point of the Scandola nature reserve. An isolated Genoese tower enjoys magnificent views of these landscapes, including the mass of maquis in the surrounding area. Access to this delightful spot is not easy: in theory, it's possible to walk here from Girolata although the path is difficult and dangerous and temperatures inland are extremely high in summer. By boat, the reverse is true - the site is so well known that it is often extremely crowded in summer.
