In order to reach the magnificent site of the Tour de Spanu (unless you're walking the Sentier des Douaniers coastal path) it's best to start by having a good look at the route on a map - there aren't too many people around here! Although not particularly original, the round tower is well preserved. Two other circular structures (possibly old grain silos) are also worth a look. The colourful vegetation between the tower and the sea is well worth the trip alone. The views from here are also splendid, taking in the Pointe de la Revellata, the citadel of Calvi and Île-Rousse, as well as the abandoned village of Occi, built on the side of the mountain.
