"The Aïtone forest near the village of Evisa overlooks the Golfe of Porto and, along with the Val du Niellu (which covers an area of over 4,000ha), has the most beautiful Laricio pines in Corsica. The forest can be reached from Evisa via a footpath through the sweet chestnut woods (if you have children, look out for the information boards describing the local flora), or by car along a mountain road. In the forest, the numerous natural pools and the Aïtone waterfalls will tempt hardy bathers - the temperature of the water rarely exceeds 11°C, even in summer! "
