To reach the magnificent beach at Calvi in Corsica with ease, take the simple, elegant and romantic wooden walkway that runs alongside it.

Stretching for nearly 4 kilometres, the fine sand reveals its immaculate white colour to beach-goers. Now, stretch out on your towel, or on a sun lounger at a chic ‘paillote’, to admire, from this semicircular stretch, the breathtaking view of the Genoese citadel and the town of Christopher Columbus. What’s more, its very gentle slope and shallow waters are ideal for children, even the very youngest. This means they can enjoy swimming to their heart’s content as well as building sandcastles with creative shapes; though they’ll no doubt tell you that the soft, fine sand tickles their little hands! How to get there? On foot: from Calvi town centre, a lovely wooden walkway takes you along the pine forest. By car: head out of Calvi town centre towards the pine forest. There are plenty of free car parks where you can leave your car. All you need to do is cross the railway line to reach the beach. By train: the beach tram serves the entire stretch of beach, with stops at Calvi l’Alzeta Suprana, Calvi U Pinetu, Calvi E Padule and Calvi Talle.

Calvi beach is lifeguarded in summer (from 15 June to 15 September, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm).
Pets, even on a lead, are not permitted on the beach.
