A Château in Corsica
The Château de Pianiccia is the result of a unique heritage combined with an exceptional Corsican terroir. As one of only two wine estates in Corsica officially entitled to bear the designation ‘Château’, Pianiccia cultivates 117 hectares of vines in the Plaine Orientale, nestled between the sea, the maquis and the mountains.
The estate produces wines under the Vin de Corse AOP and Île de Beauté IGP designations, using the island’s iconic grape varieties such as Vermentinu, Sciaccarellu and Niellucciu, as well as Syrah, for example, which find complementary expressions across the estate’s various plots.
Its history is closely linked to that of Count Charles-André Pozzo di Borgo, a leading Corsican figure in European diplomacy. His art of balance continues to inspire Pianiccia’s philosophy today: to seek, in every wine, the perfect balance between character, freshness, precision and elegance.
Now run by the Fanti family, Château de Pianiccia is pursuing a new ambition: to showcase authentic and accessible Corsican wines, true to their terroir, whilst keeping an exceptional heritage alive.
