Presentation

Emmanuelle Fondacci's small market gardening operation, nestled in the Balagne countryside, is celebrating its sixth year of existence and its opening of direct farm sales in 2017. In the company of her husband, Paul, who comes from a family of shepherds, Emmanuelle patiently invented and structured her installation.

"The initial idea for the garden came to us spontaneously. Combining market gardening with an olive grove, which my in-laws owned, seemed to us to be complementary and natural," says the young farmer.

All the more natural given that organic farming (AB) certification was an obvious choice for both plantations. "It's essential to work at Nature's pace. Our ancestors always did this with our hundred-year-old olive trees. Mother Nature is the only one in charge," she jokes. Emmanuelle strives to respect the environment and the rhythm of the seasons, and admits to having a soft spot for the transplanting of seedlings and the first harvests. There's no shortage of projects for the Fondacci couple: soon, the orchard will include lemon, grapefruit and orange trees.

For those who dream of total immersion, Emmanuelle offers a unique experience: staying at the farm in "glamping" mode. And for gourmets, on certain evenings during the season, enjoy a table d'hôtes featuring farm produce.
