Discovering Julien Fauconnier's world, in the heart of the gentle Balagne region, makes you realize that Corsican agriculture is full of men and women with singular backgrounds.
Just imagine: the young man who today masters the art of distilling essential oils, used to work, with equal virtuosity, in the computer industry in Paris, where he had gone into exile for his studies just a few years ago.
Despite the hustle and bustle of Parisian life, he kept in mind the memory of his great-grandfather's olive grove, which the maquis was gradually taking over. One day, the call of the land became more pressing, and Julien Fauconnier crossed the sea again to return to his Balinese refuge.
"I began by producing organic olive oil, but the climate of recent years has made the harvest uncertain. So I decided to devote myself primarily to the production of essential oils", explains the young farmer. He continues: "I don't grow the plants needed for distillation, I simply make a selection of the plants naturally present on my land."
Immortelle, rosemary and many other plants thus deliver the quintessence of their medicinal and olfactory properties, ensuring the total purity of his certified "Agriculture biologique" oils. Julien offers a wide range of organic essential oils and hydrolats, with olfactive scents and presentations of the properties of the different plants.
Trading in his computer keyboards for his sickle and still, Julien seems to have rediscovered "his" essentials!
