Your day-by-day itinerary

DAY 1

Discover Bastia
Arrival in Bastia. Take advantage of this day to stroll through the picturesque streets of the Citadel, enjoy a coffee on a terrace on the famous Place Saint-Nicolas, or wander along the old port, renowned for its restaurants and typical Mediterranean atmosphere. A perfect introduction to Corsican charm.

Overnight stay in Bastia in a 3* hotel, bed and breakfast.

DAY 2

Bastia - Calvi
You leave Bastia by train for a journey of about 3 hours through the mountains of Balagne, before traveling along the west coast of Corsica. Between L'Île Rousse and Calvi, admire the beautiful beaches and picturesque marinas. Your final destination, Calvi, welcomes you with its sandy beaches and port nestled at the foot of the Citadel. At the end of the day, enjoy a hike to Notre-Dame de la Serra, offering breathtaking views of the bay.

Hike: 6 km, 2 hours, +225 m, -225 m.

DAY 3

Calvi and La Revellata
Calvi, the place where some claim Christopher Columbus was born. Your hike will take you along the coast to the La Revellata peninsula. Along the way, enjoy the small beaches for a swim before reaching the La Revellata lighthouse. The return to Calvi is via a ridge trail offering superb views of the west coast.

In hot weather, remember to bring water and sunscreen, as shade is scarce on the peninsula.

Hike: 11 km, 3.5 hours, +170 m, -170 m.

DAY 4

Calvi - Corte
You leave Calvi by train for a journey of about 2 hours to Corte, located in the heart of the Corsican mountains. Former capital of the Corsican nation (1755-1769), Corte offers a unique setting for exploring its fascinating heritage and unspoiled nature. Take the opportunity to visit the Museum of Corsica or stroll through the narrow streets of the old town, home to the oldest grocery store in Europe.

DAY 5

The Tavignano Gorges
After breakfast, head to the citadel of Corte to begin a superb hike along the Tavignano Gorges. Along the way, admire the mountainous landscapes before reaching a bridge overlooking the Tavignano River. This is the perfect place for a picnic and a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters. The return to Corte is via the same trail, with magnificent views of the valley.

Hike: 12 km, 3.5 hours, +350 m, -350 m.

DAY 6

Corte - Ajaccio
Today, take the train from Corte to the imperial city of Ajaccio, a journey of about 2 hours that will offer you unforgettable landscapes. You will pass through spectacular panoramas, including the Vecchio bridge, a work by Gustave Eiffel, before the train descends to the seaside town of Ajaccio and its magnificent gulf. Once there, explore the Fesch Museum, the Bonaparte House, or stroll through the narrow streets of the city center.

DAY 7

From the ridges to the Sanguinaires Islands
Today, you have a choice of two different hikes:

The first option takes you along the Promenade des Crêtes, a popular walk above Ajaccio overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. It's also a great way to discover the many species of plants that cover part of the island.

The second option takes you to the Genoese tower of La Parata, which dominates the coastal landscape near the Sanguinaires Islands.

Approximately 10 km, 4 hours, +450 m, -450 m.

DAY 8

End of your stay in Ajaccio after breakfast, return by train to Bastia or Calvi possible. See you soon!
