Through Saint Barbara, Saint Nicholas, Saint Lucy and many others, who are these saints who have marked popular tradition for centuries? Why are they still so well known in Bastia and the rest of the island? How are they represented in Baroque art? Why did Corsicans invoke them so often over the centuries? And today, what has become of this popular fervour?
