River exploration in canoe-kayak with the Marana-Golo Tourist Office
The Marana-Golo Intercommunal Tourist Office, in partnership with the Canoe Kayak Club du Golu, is offering canoeing and kayaking trips.
The descent starts from the CKCG base near the Canoninca church and the ecomuseum. This magnificent descent is 4km long and takes around 1 hour to complete. Going up the Golo is an equally interesting and fun option in such a magnificent landscape.
During this descent, which is accessible to all, you'll enjoy landscapes that are completely different from those along the coast of the Isle of Beauty. You'll reach the mouth of the river where you can swim in the sea on beaches that are still wild and only accessible by kayak.
This relaxing spot, where the cool mountain water will refresh you during the summer months, is sure to give you a feeling of well-being far from the hustle and bustle of overcrowded beaches.
During this hike, you'll have the chance to admire the rich biodiversity of the Golo, which has been classified as a Natura 2000 site. It's by taking it easy that you'll have the best chance of seeing or hearing the birds, or spotting the Cistude tortoise or the Milan Royal and many other species.
