Starting from Corte, the GT20 will take you south of the island through the mountains, then towards the sea, ending in Bonifacio. A self-guided touring holiday with 4 days of moderate cycling on an electric bike or more strenuous cycling on a regular bike. Accommodation in ** and *** hotels.
This route crosses Corsica from the center to the south, offering an immersion in varied landscapes.
From Corte, it winds between mountains and villages to the Inzecca Gorges, then reaches Ghisoni. The GT20 then climbs through the Marmano forest to the Verde Pass before descending towards the Taravo Valley.
After Cozzano and Zicavo, the route crosses the Vaccia Pass and the Cuscionu plateau, famous for its meadows and wild horses.
It then crosses the Alta Rocca and its stone villages, reaches Zonza, and descends towards Levie and Carbini.
As you approach the far south, the views open up onto Sardinia.
After Sotta and the hill of Chera, the main road will take you to Bonifacio and its port, the final destination of this crossing.

DAY 1 Arrival in Corte
Corte, the former capital of Pascal Paoli's “Corsican nation” (1755-1769), has a rich historical past. Once you have settled into your hotel, you can set off to explore the old town with its steep streets, dominated by its citadel.

DAY 2 From Corte to Ghisoni
You will leave the town of Corte behind and head south, taking a route through the heart of Corsica, through mountains and villages. You will alternate between main and secondary roads, passing through villages and scrubland, until you reach the Fium'Orbu river. The route then joins the Inzecca gorges, a narrow and wild pass that will take you to the village of Ghisoni, located at the confluence of the Regolo and Fium'Orbu valleys. This village has a rich religious heritage, with several churches dating from the 15th and 17th centuries.

DAY 3 From Ghisoni to Zicavo
Starting from Ghisoni, the GT20 climbs through the Marmano forest to the Verde pass, the highest point of the day. The route then descends into the upper Taravo valley, a rural area where you will encounter free-range pigs and vast mountainous landscapes. It then passes through the villages of Cozzano and Zicavo, which you will leave behind as you continue towards the Vaccia Pass. You will then ride along the Cuscionu plateau, a high-altitude plateau offering rolling landscapes dotted with pozzini (grassy waterways), where horses roam freely.
