YOUR DAY-BY-DAY PROGRAM
Day 1: Ajaccio-Bonifacio
Distance: 123 km / Elevation gain: 2,312 m
We'll welcome you early in the morning in Ajaccio. This first leg takes us to the far south, crossing from one gulf to another, from Ajaccio to Valinco, ending at the white cliffs of Bonifacio: beautiful sandy beaches, Genoese towers, small wild bays, and lovely climbs.
Day 2: Bonifacio-Zicavo
Distance: 110 km / Elevation gain: 2,235 m
From the Ospedale to the Aiguilles de Bavella, the route (a stage of the 2013 Tour de France) takes us through the upper Taravo Valley and its picturesque villages nestled in the greenery. We follow the course of the torrent to the Vaccia Pass (1,193 m), followed by a long descent through chestnut and beech trees to Zicavo (735 m).
Day 3: Zicavo-Corte
Distance: 101 km / Elevation gain: 2,305 m
This exceptional inland route offers us the crossing of two famous passes: Verde (1,289 m) and Sorba (1,311 m). Then we descend towards the Vecchio Valley and its green meadows to reach Corte, the historic capital of independent Corsica.
Day 4: Corte-Porto
Distance: 76 km / Elevation gain: 1,515 m
Discover the sublime Niolu region and its Scala di Santa Regina gorge! Today, we pass through the magnificent Spelunca Gorges and the Col de Vergio, the highest road pass in Corsica! Before diving towards Porto and the magnificent view of its gulf!
Day 5 Porto-Ajaccio
Distance: 98 km / Elevation gain: 1,723 m
Crossing the Calanches de Piana (UNESCO World Heritage Site): a small pink cliff road winds its way through jagged rock formations: breathtaking! Then we continue towards Cargèse and its two churches: the Greek and the Latin, facing each other above the sea. One last effort to climb to the Col de Sarcoggio to admire the beautiful Gulf of Sagone.
