Day 1: Preparations...

Welcome in Corte and transfer to Capannelle.
Presentation of the route... preparation of bags.
Night in a lodge.

Day 2: Monte Renoso and the pinzi corbini

Today we climb Monte Renoso, the highest peak in Southern Corsica. Alpine atmosphere... On a clear day, superb views of all the island's mountain ranges, from Cap Corse to... Sardinia! Then we walk along its ridge, sometimes lunar, sometimes very jagged, to reach the Vizzavona pass... A very wild route.

Walking time: 6 hours and elevation gain: +900 m and -1200 m.

Day 3: Monte d'Oro

Today we climb one of Corsica's “big five”: Monte d'Oru... far from being the highest, this 2,386 m peak is somewhat isolated from the main chain and offers us a unique panorama of a few hidden lakes and high peaks...

Walking time: 8 hours and elevation gain: +1,300 m and -1,100 m.

Day 4: Destination Rotondo

After starting the day on the ridges of the GR20 Alpine variant, we lighten our bags at the Petra Piana refuge to set off to conquer one of the most beautiful peaks in Corsica: Monte Rotondo... From up there, there is a superb view of the whole island... We make a quick stop at the lake on the way down, before returning to the Petra Piana refuge where we spend the night.

Walking time: 8 hours and elevation gain: +1,600 m / -800 m.

Day 5: The day of the lakes

Today we discover the famous lakes of Melo and Capitello... in a perfectly mineral setting, which we gradually leave behind to discover, without transition, the lawns and rolling landscapes of Camputile... The contrast is striking! Several variations are possible today to discover some little-known lakes... to be decided on site depending on the weather and our mood...

Basic walking time: 6 hours and elevation gain: +650 m and -900 m. +/- 1 to 2 hours and 200 to 400 m of additional elevation gain depending on the option chosen.
Night in tents at Noël's place, at the Vaccaghja sheepfolds... in the heart of Camputile.

Day 6: La Cimatella and Lake Nino

Today we leave the trail to reach the summit of La Cimatella and all the ridges that follow it to Bocca à Reta, where we rejoin the GR20. The more adventurous can take a short detour to the shores of Lake Nino...

Walking time: 5.5 hours and elevation gain: +600 m and -750 m.

Day 7: La Cuccula

Off-trail ascent of La Cuccula: at a height of just over 2,000 m, offering a superb panorama of the entire Corsican mountain range and the Gulf of Porto. Descent to the intimate and isolated Puscaghja refuge.

Walking time: 6 hours and elevation gain + 800 m / – 1000m
Night in tents near the refuge.

Day 8: A beautiful ridge walk

An old shepherd's path takes us up to the Guagnerola pass... From there, a ridge walk takes us to the GR20 in the upper Golo valley and the Ciottulu refuge where we spend the night.
Walking time: 4 hours and elevation gain: +1000m. + a few optional peaks along the way and on arrival...

Day 9: The Queen of our mountains

Morning ascent of the Queen of our mountains, Paglia Orba... Short break at the refuge before descending to the Ballone sheepfolds in a 100% mineral atmosphere... Plenty of opportunities for swimming along the way and on arrival.

Walking time: 6.5 hours and elevation gain: +750 m and –1,200 m.

Day 10: Sunrise on the roof of Corsica

We set off at dawn for this very long but superb stage... Today, we pass through the heart of the island's highest peaks... In a high mountain atmosphere... Breakfast on the roof of Corsica, Monte Cintu at sunrise... 360° panorama... Then descent to Asco, where our journey ends...

Walking time: 8 hours and elevation gain: + / – 1450m.
Lunch in Asco to celebrate our climbs... and transfer back to Corte.
